@Charlie It IS a joint Adobe/HP effort. Apple has been throwing a lot of trash Adobe’s way the last couple of weeks (mainly because of the Flash on the Ipad debate)and I suppose this is Adobe’s answer…

@Daniel All Flash CS5 is gonna change is that it’s gonna allow to “export” the content and submit it directly to the AppStore.
Apple doesn’t want Flashon the Iphone, not the other way…

I’ll be happy to see Flash player running on my iPhone, if and when it happens. I’ve read a lot of rumour and conjecture about Flash CS5 support for iPhone developers, so I would hope that in turn Apple enable Flash player on the iPhone/iPad. If I was cynical I’d presume it has a lot to do with the widely available free games killing the App Store.

It seems Microsoft have really had their thinking caps on, while Apple, well, an oversized iPhone? Might look cute, but it’s a case of aesthetics over practicality and function. You’re going to have to keep it in a sleeve, in your backpack. The same applies for the HP unfortunately. Great if you’re lounging around the house, but we’ve got laptops for that. The time you need is it standing up on the subway, and you want to read the news, check blogs, etc. Here the MS wins handsdown, reach into inside pocket, open, voila.

Oh, and baggsie I make the Donkey Kong clone ;O) …in flash, naturally.

This is an amazing video. I just hope that the Slate will really change from what we can experience from the Touchsmart tm2: a disappointing multitouch interactivity.

Is it really smart to release a video like that a few weeks before the iPad’s Launch? I understand HP’s trying to preempt the iPad, but it seems that the video is a joint Adobe / HP effort.

Adobe has a nack for getting on Jobs’ bad side.

Me too. I wish the iPad had been an actual OS X operating system but the Slate provides everything I want in a tablet.

As a Flash developer who develops on a MacBook Air (now that’s dedication), this fanboy will be getting an HP tablet instead of an iPad when the two are released, for the obvious reason.
