The Best RIA Resource Yet

Matthias sent a note about RIA Alltop and I think it’s the best collection of RIA blogs/information that I’ve seen. Alltop is a “headline aggregator” it basically has a collection of blogs on a subject and then lists the most recent posts for those blogs. The RIA section covers everything from Flash, Flex, Silverlight, JavaScript – pretty much any RIA language that you’re interested in. It’s by far the most diverse collection and I think it’s one of the best ways to get a quick snapshot from a variety of different sources. This is going to become the second link I click in the morning after Techmeme.

I’ve tried Alltop several times mostly becauas I read Guy Kawasakis blog and he keeps pumping it up, but every time i’ve visited i’ve been dissapointed. One thing I can’t understand is the giant bar overlay that obscures information. If they had to have this why couldn’t be at the very top or bottom so it doesn’t get in the way? Also why does it need to reload the entire page if i want to hide a feed? They have some serious UI work to do before I would visit it every day.

Alltop.com certainly sounded innovated when Guy Kawasaki announced the site last March. Glad to see its useful in the RIA world. Thanks for the info.

    Hi Ryan,

Glad you like it :D .. I suggested the RIA topic to Guy on twitter and also compiled most of the list of links that you see there.

    Cheers,
