Adobe Developer Connection Developer Desktop

March 2nd, 2008 by ryanstewart

Developer DesktopWe’ve got a cool little application built on AIR that may be helpful to developers. It’s called the Developer Desktop and it hooks into our resources so you get a bunch of developer connection stuff all in one place. It includes a component explorer where you can view a list of the components available for download. You can download the component, see how many people have downloaded it, the rating, and in some cases, a preview of the component in use right in the AIR application. It also has an RSS reader so you can track any developer-related feeds and finally it has its own bug tracker. You can browse the bugs.adobe.com site to check on and interact with bugs that we have outstanding and then add them to your own individual watch list within the Developer Desktop. It’s a pretty slick and helpful tool for anyone interested in our open source stuff or creating their own Flex/AIR applications.

Great News, didn’t know this was available.

Question Ryan, why hasn’t the Flex Chess Application been talked about it recently. I was planning on having a community like it built since the place I usually (WCN) was bought out but after finding this I’ve changed my mind and will be an active member of this community. It’s Flex + Java. If it’s already been talked about I apologize, if not people check it out you can find it here: http://www.chesscube.com/
