Talking Rich Internet Applications in SwitzerlandI’m going to be in Switzerland next week and have a few cool events planned. The main event is a talk at the Java User Group Switzerland about RIAs. I’ll be giving an overview of different RIA technologies and the use cases for each one. I’ll also be doing some demos. As part of that, we’ll be going up to Pilatus, a mountain in Switzerland, to have a Mountain Talk on RIAs. Everyone is welcome, so f you’re interested, drop me a line and I can get you details.

Finally, I’ll be doing a presentation at the Adobe User Group in Zurich on AIR, Thermo, and Flex. Should be a great RIA-filled week!

    I have fond memories of Switzerland. And some good stereotypes of the people (whom I admire). I used to work for a Swiss owned company.

    So, here’s my favorite true story:
    I was at the airport and at the rental-car desk they had this new fangled computer that would print out directions to any destination (this was in 1990 so it really was new-fangled). So the thing crashes and I tell the employee it was broken. He takes a look, unplugs it, and walks away. I was like “dude, the thing is broken”… he said “yeah, I fixed it”.

    Close. I’m going to be in Geneva and Lausanne next week. I like the idea of climbing a mountain to talk about RIAs, so maybe I’ll drop in.
