Facebook Fatigue

October 11th, 2007 by ryanstewart

Om is reporting that Facebook’s traffic is down. Some people are questioning the data but I know I’ve been on the site less and less. I still love it. It’s still my preferred way for managing both my personal and business contacts, but with travel and other, more interesting diversions (read: Twitter), I’m not on the site as much. I also haven’t gotten into the apps as much as I thought I would. In the beginning there were a ton of interesting applications. Now they’re either harder to find or I’m not looking in the right places. I’d love to see Adobe release some cool RIAs for Facebook. What about Buzzword as a Facebook app? What about Share incorporation? That would be really slick. I also think there’s some AIR potential there but it has to be the right solution, not something like Facebook offline.

Scoble feels the same way, and I don’t think the two of us are alone.  For me it lost something when they (for some random reason) decided not to make my high school searchable (it’s no longer a link). That was a great way to find classmates and kept me checking the site often.
