Halo 3 and Silverlight

September 21st, 2007 by ryanstewart

Microsoft has been pushing a lot of Silverlight stuff out in the conjunction with Halo 3 launch, which I think is brilliant. The Halo 3 site shows off some of Silverlight’s video capability and they just remixed their Tafiti site with a Halo 3 theme. It makes Tafiti a lot cooler, but I’m still not really sure how many people are using it. I think all of this is a carefully laid plan by Dr. Sneath to steal Mike Chambers away. The Barely out of Beta guys should do a comic about that.
Also, I think we’re going to have some news about the Halo 3 launch, but I’m keeping quiet because I don’t want to steal anyone’s thunder. Stay tuned though.

Don’t tell me you’ve reverse-engineered and reimplemented Halo 3 in Flash? I really would be impressed!

    You are such a tease!

Let me guess: Cortana is really an AIR app? Hey, I think it’s a pretty good guess. She runs on multiple platforms and has a great looking interface.

Got a crazy idea.. let’s have Microsoft Staffers vs Adobe Staffer’s in Halo3 scratch match.. you pick 5 of your best, we’ll pick 5 of ours.. winner get’s to see the respective logos on each others site(s).. (ie Silverlight logo on Adobe and Flash on Silverlights) hehehe..

Also all sponsorship dollars go to help all displaced RIA refugee’s….

I’m going to attend the Microsoft’s ‘Web Platform’ seminar this Friday in the Kiev, Ukraine. My company proposed me to visit it and I thought it would be interesting to have a closer look at their stuff and to listen to the MS guys. I’m surely will never switch to the MS platform because of ideology, I dislike their approach to Object Models, huge structures etc.

They plan to tell about Silverlight, Live Platform, Expression family… let’s see what it will be. Some of my Flash / Flex colleagues will be there too so its a good time to meet and discuss the things at 7,000 the feet level.

BTW, Halo 3 is the teaser of the week!
