Eyejot on RIA pedia

February 5th, 2007 by ryanstewart

Mike Potter, who has been doing an awesome job, gave the breakdown of EyeJot over on RIA pedia. Eyejot is a video messaging service that uses Flex and presented at DEMO this year. It looks like a very interesting technology and they’ve got some good features like the feed that lets you watch the messages on your iPod. Video messaging seems to be kind of a new frontier and I’m not sure we’ll see the “killer app” for a while, but first movers probably have a big advantage. The Eyejot team is here in Seattle so I’m hoping to meet up with them and do a more in depth review on The Universal Desktop.

    Hi Ryan -

Just a quick reminder about the gabmail service.

Like eyejot it’s a free video email service that requires no download but gabmail has several exclusive features like threading so that every video in an ongoing convo is accessible with a single click. There’s no registration either so as soon as you hit the site you can begin recording and sending as many videos as you want. Plus you can send videos using any email client or webmail program. Messages can be 2 minutes long but they’re extending that to 5 minutes soon according to the ceo. Plus there’s a way to supercharge messages with this thing called gabjam which is a collaborative/viral component. gabjam has it’s own site too http://www.gabjam.com.

    Cheer! Nick

Check out Vidagram, it does the same thing as eyejot. It will allow users to send video email directly to other peoples email.
