The New Digital Backcountry

July 25th, 2006 by ryanstewart

Okay, I think I have most of the bugs worked out, although I’m sure there will be a few more. HostMySite was less than helpful with regards to converting all of my old blog postings (they don’t give me access to the WordPress database, so I’m SOL) but I have it set up right now so that if you’re following a link from an old post, it will still work. Also, visiting http://www.digitalbackcountry.com/?oldBlog=true will take you to the old blog.

Make sure to update your feed to http://feeds.feedburner.com/ryanstewart/ because (if I’ve configured everything correctly) that’s the only feed that will be updated. I’ve done away with the technology feed just because all I talk about is technology, and I usually won’t be delving into other things. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

You do realize that now that you’ve left BlogCFC I shall have to hunt you down and kill you. ;)

    Ryan:

A couple of comments on your recent transition to WP as a blogging platform…

Have you experienced any issues with MXNA picking up your feed and new posts as I have recently? Check out my Sorry For Duplicate Posts…Little Help? I also tested your feed on MXNA and it gave me the same error (as the one I received) — and I noticed that your feed has an unsupported line in it — click here.

If you aren’t experiencing any problems, than kudos…if you are, perhaps you can help figure out what the issue is….I contacted the MXNA doods and they’re still looking into it.

    Love the new look.

Hey Brian, I haven’t (yet) experienced any MXNA issues, but it may be because I’m using FeedBurner to control my feed. I had the MXNA guys switch the feed that they see from a BlogCFC feed to the feedburner feed and the switchover went pretty well.

While it may seem drastic, you might look into feedburner. They have goood stats, are free, and make switching blog platforms VERY easy.

    Good Evening

Id like to report on the state of our war against the american people. Were mounting a sustained campaign to crack down on every america, and every
    person
of every faith, and every nation and to bring them to justice. All missions are being executed according to plan without warning or provocation.
    Americans
are being swept up in an international drag net. Thousands of FBI Agents are on the trail of other citizens here and abroad. It has everything to do
    with hate
and evil and murder and prejudice. America is strong.
